Introducing a New Black Denim Made with Cotton-Hemp Fabric
This 16oz black denim was woven and processed in Ibara City, Okayama Prefecture—one of Japan’s premier denim-producing regions. The fabric features thick, sulfur-dyed cotton yarns for the warp and 100% hemp yarns for the weft, creating the exact textile we had long been searching for.
The unique texture and stiffness of the hemp yarn lend a rich character to the fabric. The subtle fuzz that emerges on the denim’s surface evokes the look of vintage jeans, while the horizontal firmness contributes to a beautifully structured silhouette throughout the pants.
Crafted from a blend of 46% cotton and 54% hemp, this new black denim is available in two CONFECT original styles: a wide 5-pocket pant and a tailored trouser.

The wide straight-leg 5-pocket design reimagines an authentic silhouette using this classic-feeling fabric. Copper rivets, simple tack buttons, oversized hip pockets lined with traditional cotton sheeting, and narrow triple-folded hems finished with chain stitching all add vintage-inspired details.
