The slogan "NATURAL NEW BASIC" was established in 2005 when the brand first began. "NATURAL" refers not only to natural materials but also to a relaxed and effortless style of dressing. Additionally, at CONFECT, the natural color of linen fibers is also called "NATURAL." The color of the raw material derived from dried flax is known as flaxen, resembling beige or light brown with a hint of silver-gray, giving it a refined and subdued appearance. At CONFECT, we have cherished this color as a staple.
Now, to allow you to fully appreciate this NATURAL color, we have prepared a suit consisting of a jacket and pants, made from black linen harvested through the traditional retting process.
- FABRIC -
Black linen is created through a traditional method in which harvested flax plants are left to dry in the fields for an extended period, rather than using modern, machine-driven processes that prioritize efficiency. Compared to regular linen, black linen has a slightly darker hue. This darkness comes from the absorption of dark-colored soil components and the natural proliferation of microorganisms during the retting process. Since this coloration cannot be intentionally controlled, black linen is truly a product of nature.
The 100% linen canvas fabric, woven with medium-thick yarn in a slightly rugged texture, retains fragments of leaves and bast fibers, showcasing its natural character.
