GEAR OUTFITS
One of the iconic fabrics that represent Euro vintage wear is indigo-dyed linen. CONFECT has developed a unique fabric by coating this linen with sumi (black ink) pigment. Another distinctive fabric is made from worsted wool, dyed using a traditional Japanese technique called nagashi-zome, in which dye is floated on the surface of water to create organic patterns that are then transferred onto the fabric—resulting in a striking vertical motif. Using these two fabrics, we created CONFECT’s GEAR WEAR collection, inspired by elements of outdoor clothing.
SUMI INDIGO LINEN
The linen fabric is 100% linen, first dyed with indigo and then further overdyed with sumi ink. Through repeated wear and washing, the colors blend together, giving rise to a unique, nuanced look where black and blue intermingle. We designed two garments reminiscent of the Makinon and Biaude—historically worn by horse traders and livestock dealers in early 20th-century France.
The outerwear is inspired by vintage fishing garments. With a large umbrella yoke and water-repellent coating, it is designed to withstand various weather conditions, making it an all-weather-ready piece.

SUMI INDIGO LINEN
We used worsted wool, combed to align the fibers uniformly, which results in a smooth and even texture. By removing surface fuzz, the fabric achieves a light and airy feel that remains comfortable even in hot and humid summer conditions. The dyeing process employs a traditional technique called nagashi-zome, in which dyes are floated on the surface of water to form patterns that are then transferred onto the fabric—creating unique, flowing motifs that resemble natural currents.
