Linen" is the main fabric of CONFECT and is one of the identities that form the brand.
The rich texture of linen, its versatility for daily use, its durability that does not wear out over time, and the way the fabric conforms to the body as it is worn. We believe that this is the charm of linen and the reason for the attachment to it.
Clothes created by blending the universal elements of men's clothing such as traditional, military, and work with natural materials such as linen. That is CONFECT.
In this special feature page, we will show you all the linen fabrics we have released so far for the spring and summer seasons.
LINEN SHIRT FABRIC
The texture and characteristics of the resulting fabric vary depending on the combination of yarn count and weaving method. We make our fabrics with an eye on these characteristics, while also taking into consideration how comfortable they will be when actually worn.
In this feature page, we introduce four plain weave fabrics that are finished by garment dyeing.
High Thread Count Linen
We call this fabric "80=Hachimaru. We use 80 count yarn, which belongs to the finest count in linen, and weave this at the highest possible density. It is characterized by a beautiful, well-rounded fabric surface with little unevenness and almost no sheer.
CONFECT offers two types of shirts as standard items that can be worn anytime throughout the year: regular collar shirts and band collar shirts.

60 linen
A new linen shirt debuted for the spring 2024 season. We call this shirt "60=Rokumaru" after the 60 count yarn used in the fabric. Loosely woven fabric density allows for good breathability, lightweight, and stress-free wearing.
Linen shirts with sheer are not so common as men's wear, but the dark color from garment dyeing and the textured fabric from garment washing have created a shirt that can be proposed to men as well.

This is a plain weave linen fabric using 40 count yarn, which CONFECT has been continuously proposing since 2009 when we started. We call this shirt "40=Yonmaru" after the 40 count yarn used in the fabric.
This fabric is the most orthodox, and I think it shows the texture of linen itself best. With a slightly rough texture and moderate sheer characteristic of linen, this fabric makes the most of the texture of linen itself.

This is also CONFECT's standard fabric, as is the 40 linen fabric. Plain weave fabric using 60 count linen yarn for the warp and 40 count linen yarn for the weft. The combination of yarns of different counts brings out the rough look of linen in a good balance.

The stripe patterns are from closely dense linear widths from yarn dyed stripes of three different hues with color depths of ecru, white, and navy.
The source of the image is antique fabrics from Europe, where linen has been a part of daily life since ancient times.

BLACK LINEN
The base of linen fiber is a plant called flax. It is said that when the harvested flax is dried on that soil, it absorbs the soil's black color and the fungus that gives it its black color proliferates.
A grayish color with a black tinge that cannot be produced by today's industrialized production process. This linen is called "black linen.
Because production is largely dependent on unpredictable weather conditions, this black linen is highly scarce.

Most of the linen fabrics we carry at CONFECT are woven fabrics, but we also carry a few knit fabrics. The representative of these fabrics is "linen inlay. This fabric is carefully knitted over time by a manufacturer in Wakayama with outstanding skills. Linen yarn, which has more knots and unevenness than other fibers, is difficult to handle and requires time and skill.
Crafted using a special Sinker machine, where the weft yarn runs through between the stitches front and back without ever making a new stitch, thus resulting to a fabric touch that is a pure pleasure to feel.

CONFECT's standard denim is a rare 100% linen denim that does not exist very often in the world. The suppleness unique to linen allows it to blend well with the body, and gives it a drape and fall that is not possible with cotton denim.
Using this fabric, work shirts and trousers were launched as new models for the spring/summer 2024 season.
